Project Summary

The Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia (ARSBC), founded in 1991, is a volunteer-driven non‑profit that converts retired ships and aircraft into artificial reefs through pollutant-free sinking. With eight ships and a Boeing 737 reefed to date, they enhance marine biodiversity, support research, and generate eco‑diving tourism benefits, while relying entirely on volunteers and partnerships with coastal communities and government agencies.
